Several Orchids were in bloom, including purple and pyramidal. Even the different bindweeds looked wonderful. A pair of Mute Swans rested calmly with a cygnet or two at the bronze feet of Sir Peter Scott.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3382\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3382\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.obsessedbynature.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC06998-Teneral-Darter-dragonfly.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-3382\" src=\"http:\/\/www.obsessedbynature.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC06998-Teneral-Darter-dragonfly-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"A teneral (new) darter\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3382\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A teneral (new) darter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The dragonflies included one Black-tailed Skimmer, sunning itself on a &#8220;wildside&#8221; path; several blue hawkers, probably Hairy Dragonflies; an Emperor; a teneral darter, probably Common Darter; masses of blue damselflies &#8211; all the ones I managed to check were Azure Damselfly; and a few Common Bluetail damselflies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.obsessedbynature.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC07001-imm-male-Common-Bluetail-damselfly.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-3387\" src=\"http:\/\/www.obsessedbynature.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC07001-imm-male-Common-Bluetail-damselfly-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Immature male Common Bluetail damselfly\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Immature male Common Bluetail damselfly<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wasn&#8217;t really birding but it was nice to see a little cloud of House Martins flycatching, and a richly dressed Dabchick diving for food.
