The English Love Affair with Nature (2015)

A gentle history of how something very curious came to be: a whole nation in love with an abstract thing. The book tells how the nation fell in love, and then (How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…) describes some of the many ways that the English show their love for nature, from Art and Geology to Birding, Angling, Gardening and more.
West London Wildlife (2022)

A beautiful book about the wildlife you can see right here in London. A team of experts and nature-lovers (you pays your money and you takes your pick which of those two groups I belong to!) describes fourteen varied places in West London where you can see a wonderful array of animals, plants, and fungi, living wild and free. I wrote five of the book’s chapters.
English Reserve (2025)
Mayhem in Middlesex

A humorous fictional account of shenanigans in a nature reserve as the volunteers work on varied tasks, chatting continuously. Meanwhile some of the visitors are clearly up to no good. They get their come-uppance and the reserve is set to rights.
